Team Tonet secures 2017 Argao Chess Festival title
TEAM Tonet tallied 18 points in 24 rounds to rule the recent 2017 Argao Chess Festival held at the Argao Chess Plaza.
The four-day event, which attracted 10 teams, was held in commemoration of the town’s annual fiesta celebration with the theme: Yes to Chess No to Drugs.
Team Hector and Team Percy, finished second and third with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
The top three best finishers received P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 while the top individual performers also received cash prizes.
Players from classes A to C played in a round robin system tournament which also attracted varsity and Elo-rated players from Cebu City, Argao and neighboring towns.
The tournament was sponsored by Cowasco-MPC, MRH Saint Medical Clinical Laboratory, Chitang’s Torta, GM Villaflor Builders, Villegas Law Office, Hon. Mariglen L. Bongcawil and Pare Carwash.
