About 625 stalks of fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted in Toledo City on Friday morning.

SPO2 Geraldo Tabuado of Toledo City Police Station, along with the Special Weapons and Tactics personnel of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, uprooted the marijuana plants at Sitio Kalugtugan, Barangay Pangamihan –  a mountain barangay about 20 kilometers from the city proper.

According to PO3 Carlos Barluado of Toledo City, the station received information from barangay officials of Pangamihan that a marijuana plantation is being cultivated in the area.

Eduardo Cabiles, who reportedly planted the marijuana, eluded arrest.

A suspected marijuana buyer identified as Rey Pardillo Laspoña was arrested.

Recovered from the possession of Laspoña was a pack of dried marijuana plants weighing about 20 grams.

Toledo City police will be filing cases against Cabiles and the arrested buyer.
