ERMITA’S ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN

Netizens were questioning Barangay Ermita’s reverse labeling campaign against drugs, saying the officials should focus on cracking down on drug users and pushers.

Jonathan Hobley posted on Facebook, “If the house contains drug dealers then arrest them as you obviously have huge amounts of evidence. If that evidence is insufficient for arrest then it is also insufficient to put up the signs. So please just the PNP handle this.”

Jeff Pontillas wrote, “There are various ways to eliminate illegal drugs that do not involve shaming or violation of human rights. I don’t think our government officials are so incompetent to not have found other means to solve this.”

Grace Manuel Estolloso suggested, “Arrest the drug lords. And let them personally wear the tarpaulins you’ve printed.”

Fe Verly Geografo said, “If this is a way to solve the drug problem in the country, I give my 100 percent support. This barangay is well known for the drug dens. They should do something to change it.”
