UNITEC Pipes hiked its record up to 2-0 (win-loss) with a 70-65 win over Phelps Dodge in the Cebu Architects Basketball Club last Sunday at the Benedicto College gym along A.S. Fortuna Street.

Unitec found itself down by seven, 39-46, heading to the fourth period but got its acts together to overhaul the deficit and snatch its second win in as many outings.

Speedy guard Kim Rebosura led the way for Unitec with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals while bullstrong forward Mark Capili added 11 markers. Ferdinand Tiro had 10 points to go with five boards.

Duane Anino sizzled for 22 points off six three-pointers. However, it was not enough to keep Phelps Dodge from falling to 1-1.

In other games, Island Paints also got its second straight win with a 70-66 squeaker over Davies Paints while Boysen snatched its first win after beating Kalsi, 57-48.
