Vidal’s barber says cardinal supported family

The personal barber of the late Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal is hoping that the cardinal will soon be declared a saint.
Elpidio Donal, who visited the wake Thursday afternoon, served as Cardinal Vidal’s personal barber since he was assigned in Cebu in 1981 until his retirement.
The 78-year-old Donal described Vidal as a kind-hearted, thoughful and caring person. He said one of his daughters, a dentist managed to take and pass the board exams with Vidal’s help.
Donal’s other daughter, a nurse employed at the Perpetual Soccour Hospital, got hired after Vidal endorsed her.
