Estrada, who was greeted by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma on his arrival, called on the Catholic faithful to pray for Vidal’s soul and called him a remarkable church leader. “He was the Cardinal that gave me inspiration and told me not to give up in life,” Estrada said.

Other former and incumbent officials that visited Vidal’s wake were former president and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and former Cebu City mayor Michael Rama and Danao City Mayor Ramonito Durano.
