LENI’S VISIT TO CARDINAL VIDAL

Was the visit of Vice President Leni Robredo to the tomb of Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal too late?

Many netizens expressed contrasting views as Robredo visited Cardinal Vidal inside the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral mausoleum on October 28.

Reynaldo Rivera commented, “It’s so clear that she visited just now so she gets all the limelight and publicity to herself. And I thought the church is closing the mausoleum for five days? How come the VP was able to get inside?”

Luz Bullecer said, “You’re too late, Ma’am. Maybe you’ve read how people bash(ed) Noynoy for not coming during the wake and the burial. Are you trying to cover up for him?”

Jeff Grey, meanwhile, has a different take on the issue. He said, “There are just so many close-minded people here. She is visiting a dead person. Don’t make it a venue for your wrong judgments for the sake of having something to talk about.”

Ryan John Sumagang also defended the church for allowing Robredo to visit the mausoleum. “Of course the church will allow her to get inside, she’s the vice president. Are you serious? If you’re bitter about it, you run for government positions, too.”
