Osmeña assures city support to PDEA
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña assured newly installed Regional Director Emerson Margate of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7) of the city’s support in their campaign against illegal drugs.
Margate paid a courtesy visit to Osmeña Tuesday and the mayor said the city will provide 100 K9 units to them along with some intelligence funds on a case-to-case basis.
“I don’t like to set rules; when the need arises, we will respond but on a manner that Cebu City will benefit,” Osmeña said. He also voiced concern on the understaffed PDEA office saying it will be unable to cover the entire region.
Margata also disclosed that a PDEA search team confiscated two grams of shabu inside one of the cells at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).
