TURNCOATS

Netizens could only shake their heads at local officials affiliated with the Liberal Party (LP) who switched to President Rodrigo Duterte’s PDP-Laban party, describing them as ‘’balimbing’’ or a turncoat.

Romeo Pilayo Vital commented that “ang balimbing kahit anong asukal ang ilagay balimbing pa rin! It’s a lifestyle anyway ( A starfruit, no matter how much you add sugar, is still a starfruit)!”

Rene Balbuena commented, “This is solid proof that politics in our country is not based on principles. In my entire life this act is repeated like clockwork when a new president is elected…. so … what ‘new unity’ are we supposed to experience here?”

Carlito Cobrito also commented: ”Handa na sa mga Balimbing na Trapo, paita.”
