THIS wife and mother is out to prove that women like her can rock the international pageant stage.
Jessica “Jee” Eribal of barangay Tisa, Cebu City will represent the country in the Mrs. International 2017 to be held in Singapore on December 7.
The 40-year-old beauty queen will compete with 79 other women across the globe after she won the Mrs. International Philippines 2017 title last September in Manila.
A send-off party, organized by Glamore Productions Company, was held last November 19 at Casino Filipino Cebu in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Eribal’s preparations include losing weight and regularly going to the gym.
From 140 pounds last May, she now weighs 127 pounds.
“Dapat naa sad ta’y laban inig abot didto. I really need to invest my time for fitness and I really need to be physically fit,” she said.
She is also undergoing catwalk trainings and is confident that she will ace the question and answer portion. Eribal is not a newbie in the world of pageantry.
When she was still single, she joined Mutya ng Pilipinas 1998 Central Visayas and Miss Cebu Tourism 2000.
Although she wasn’t able to win both titles and eventually got married, her passion in joining pageants did not wane.
Now working as a regional human resource (HR) manager for Personal Collection, Eribal has a 15-year-old son who also wants to join modeling. Eribal admitted that while she feels the pressure of bringing home a title especially that the Philippines already won Miss Earth 2017 and Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 titles, she is also determined to do her best.
“I’m kinda pressured kay of course this is not just Cebu I am representing. This is the Philippines already. That is why I am preparing myself emotionally, mentally and everything,” she added.
Four titles will be given during the pageant.
These are Mrs. International, Mrs. Asia Pacific, Mrs. Asean, and Mrs. Southeast Asia.
If she wins, Eribal said she will promote breast cancer awareness and women empowerment.
“My advocacy is on breast cancer awareness, not only the wellness but also helping educate more people about it,” she said.
