Kalsi, Boysen cruise to semis in CABC caging

KALSI and Boysen advanced to the semifinal round after eliminating their respective opponents in the knockout quarterfinals of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club Corporate Cup 2017 last Sunday at the Benedicto College Gym along A.S. Fortuna Street.

Boysen outlasted Davies, 72-69, while Kalsi trumped Phelps Dodge, 66-60.

The two teams will next face off against the top-ranked Unitec Pipes and Island Paints in the semifinals this weekend. Unitec and Island Paints will own a twice-to-beat advantage.

Four different players scored in double-figures for Boysen led by Chad Go who had a nearly double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Chester Hinagdanan and Josef Padilla had 11 markers each while Criz Matunog added 10.

In the other quarterfinals match, Carlos Baltar led Kalsi with 13 points and eight boards while Mike Cinco had a horrendous shooting performance but managed 11 to push Kalsi to the next round.
