An alleged snatcher was mauled by bystanders in Sitio Pungsod, Barangay Lawaan 3 in Talisay City on December 27, Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as Ritchie Tabura, from Barangay Tabunok in Talisay. He allegedly stole cell phones from jeepney passengers.
According to Talisay City Police Investigator Cecilio Minoza, Tabura was mauled by bystanders after he disembarked from a jeepney bound for Naga City.
Tabura sustained multiple bruises on his body and was immediately brought to a nearby hospital.
Police recovered three cellphones, a 38 revolver gun, and P420 believed to be stolen from his victims.
Minoza said Tabura will be detained at Talisay Police precinct after his treatment.
