Gomez rules Derby Classic

FILIPINO cue master Roberto “Pinoy Superman” Gomez ruled the Derby City Classic 10-Ball Pool Championship held at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, Indiana in the US on Tuesday.

The Zamboanga City-native Gomez defeated Feder Gorst of Venezuela, 11-10, in the finals.

He pocketed the $16,000 top purse while Gorst got the $8,000 runner-up prize.

Gomez made it to the finals by beating Ronato Alcano of the Philippines, 11-10 and Joshua Filler of Germany, 11-6, in the early rounds, and then beat Mika Immonen of Finland, 11-10, in the semifinals.
