Cebu City delegation for PRISAA bared

AROUND 200 athletes from the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) will represent Cebu City in the upcoming Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Regional Finals on February 17 to 18 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) and other sporting venues around Cebu City.

The athletes that will compete in the upcoming meet are those who won in last year’s Cesafi sporting events.
Cebu City competing in 12 out of 16 events.

In athletics, there are a total of 34 tracksters who will compete against Prisaa schools from Bohol and Dumaguete.

Cebu City’s athletic squad is composed of tracksters from University of San Carlos (USC), University of Cebu (UC), University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC).

Cebu City’s badminton team will be represented by University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) smashers while its woodpushers will be represented by USJ-R, UC and USC.

USC and University of the Visayas (UV) will make up the football and basketball teams, respectively.

In table tennis, UC will be sending nine paddlers to represent Cebu City.

Cebu’s karatedo team is composed of 19 karatekas from USJ-R, USC, UV and UC. The swimming team has 42 tankers from USC, UC, UV and SHS-AdC.

In taekwondo, Cebu City will field in 16 jins from USC, USJ-R, UC and UV. Netters from UV, USC and UC make up the tennis team while the volleyball men’s team will be made up of the USJ-R team.

UV, meanwhile, will pit eight of its boxers in the meet.
