THE S.T.A.R Taekwondo Gym emerged as overall champions in this year’s Regional Poomsae Taekwondo Championships last Sunday at the Pacific Mall in Mandaue City, Cebu.
The S.T.A.R jins, coached by Glenn Lava, hauled in a total of 19 medals, outclassing seven other teams from all over Cebu. Lava’s wards collected eight golds, three silvers and eight bronze medals.
The Avengers Taekwondo Club came in at second with 15 medals.
The jins of coach Avenger Alob, the father of De La Salle University standout McAvengyr, collared nine golds, one silver and five bronzes.
Other teams who competed in the tournament were the Toledo TKD, Junas Fitness Gym Lapu-Lapu, Extreme Kickz TKD from Talisay City, and Tisa National High School.
