OF the two policemen who earlier submitted positive results in a random drug test conducted last January, one returned a positive result in a confirmatory test.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 Regional Director Chief Supt.Robert Quenery identified the policeman as PO3 Jeffrey Molat from Lapu-lapu City.

Quenery has already directed the immediate superior of P03 Molat to disarm the latter and commit him to the personnels admin holding unit while an investigation is being conducted.

If found guilty, Molat will face dismissal proceedings.

“This is a warning to all policemen who have been involved in drugs. We are serious on this matter,” Quenery said.

“It is part of the internal cleansing program of the Phillipine National Police (PNP) organization to ensure that it is clean especially those who are in the PNP’s anti-drug operations,” he added.

Meanwhile, almost a hundred members of the drug enforcement unit from different stations in Cebu City, were also subjected to a surprise drug test yesterday.

Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Cebu City police director said the test was part of the PNP’s goal to cleanse its ranks.

The random drug test was conducted after yesterday’s flag raising ceremony. They were first called to a meeting with Cosap head Gary Lao before the test was done.
