A hauler truck used for carrying sugarcanes was blocked and burned by alleged members of the New People Army (NPA) in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental on Thursday afternoon.

According to Samuel Barnayha, 37, he was transporting the sugarcane to Sitio Tabulugo in Barangay Budlasan when 10 armed men blocked his way.

Based on initial investigation, Inspector Wilfredo Alarcon Jr, Chief of Canlaon police, said the alleged NPA members told the driver to disembark from the vehicle.

Alarcon also said that the rebels burned the truck.
