59-year-old Benjamin dela Rosa was shot dead on the spot by on-duty officers of the drug enforcement unit of Mabolo Police on Friday morning.

He was the father of an alleged drug pusher, who was the subject of an anti-drug operation conducted by the policemen.

His son, Wardy dela Rosa, was arrested after being caught of selling two medium sachets of shabu, with an estimated worth of P104,000.

Upon seeing his son being handcuffed, the father went out of their house armed with two firearms, a .45 and .38 caliber revolver, and fired a shot at the policemen.

The policemen returned fire and the father sustained gunshot wounds, which resulted to his death.

A manhunt operation has been conducted by Mabolo Police to capture the younger dela Rosa, who was able to escape from the operatives during the incident.
