DON Bosco Technical College’s (DBTC) Luis Joaquin Buyco is the only Cebuano who will be joining the Philippine Under 16 Boys to Miyazaki, Japan for the Japan-Asean U16 Football Exchange Programme.

The team, of which the 15-year-old Buyco is the captain, will be leaving today for Japan with the event happening from March 6 to 14.

The Japan-ASEAN U16 Football Exchange Programme is part of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths, one of Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs.

The PUMA-sponsored Buyco was part of the DBTC- manned Cebu City secondary football team which finished as a runner-up in the recently held Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet at Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The Philippines was invited by the Japan Football Association (JFA) along with Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar.

Aside from playing football, participants will be made to watch a professional football game in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League and visit the JFA Museum.
