Osmeña to require building of twin-tower buildings as fire response measure

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña is considering to require developers to build twin-tower buildings for high-rise projects exceeding four storeys as a safety measure in case of fire.

The mayor made this pronouncement during his press conference on Friday.

“Two buildings will be one meter apart. (Both buildings should have) fire walls facing each other,” the mayor said.

Osmeña suggested that there should be a bridge or connector on every floor to serve as an escape route for employees.

“Each floor will have a connecting hall way so if there is fire employees can use the hall way to run to other building,” Osmeña added.
