Two former JOs, who failed to liquidate expenses, nabbed in Liloan

Two men facing eight cases of failure of an accountable officers to render accounts were arrested on Monday morning in Lilo-an town northern Cebu.

Ian Cesar Canete, 37, and Jan Carlo Canete of Barangay Poblacion, did not resist arrest when they were served warrants of arrest against them at 8:30 a.m., said Chief Insp. Rany Korret, Liloan Police Station chief, in a phone interview.

Korret said that the two accused were former job order employees (JOs) of Liloan town and they failed to liquidate some of the expenses as JOs in 2012.

Judge Judge Ameli Amor Estrada of the Municipal Trial Courts in Cities Liloan-Compostela issued the warrants of arrest on March 9, 2018 against the accused.

A P6,000 bail for each of the eight cases filed against them were set by Judge Estrada for their temporary liberty.

The two men were detained at the Liloan Police Station.
