University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Master of Arts in Education major in English Language Teaching (MAEDELT) students presented five papers at the 14th CamTESOL Conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Ferlin Jaco, Rodel Solera, Aibel Ugay and Analyn Giganto shared their studies with like-minded individuals at the conference. They were under the advisory of graduate school professor and director for alumni & external relations Dr. Kathleen Solon-Villaneza.
Accompanied by their dynamic College of Education (COED) dean Dr. Janet Arcana, the graduate school students who hail from Bantayan Island, Surigao and Ilo-ilo presented the following individual and collaborative papers: “Storyboards: Engaging Students With Reading” by Ferlin Jaco & Charleene Dawn Bayot, “Students’ Perception Towards Using English-Hiligaynon Code Switching In Remedial Reading Class” by Ferlin Jaco, “The Efficacy Of Integrating Audiovisual Language Learning” by Rodel Solera & Francis Paje, “The Extent of Contextual Comprehension of Semantic Adjectives Small, Little, Big, and Large” by Aibel Ugay, and “The Effect of Guided Reading Instruction on Reading Achievement” by Analyn Giganto & Merulina Nervida.
COED Dean Arcana strongly collaborates with the University’s Center for Research, Planning and Development director Dr. Odilon A. Maglasang in the area of research writing and research presentation in local, national and international conferences.
This is the second batch of graduate school students who successfully presented their papers abroad. Previously, MAEDELT student Ms. Charis Ajoc presented a paper in July 2017 at the GENTEFL International Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. /PR
