CEBU-BASED Airsoft teams dominated the first leg of Cebu City Mayor’s Open Airsoft Cup dubbed Operation Fallout at the Sugbu Grounds of the South Road Properties over the weekend.
Crack Legion battled its way to the championship title and the P30,000 prize money by securing 770 points.
Team Mizrach earned 650 points to settle for second place and the P20,000, purse while Special Action Airsoft Team (SAAT) placed third with 600 points and secured the P10,000 prize.
SAAT was also awarded Best in Close Quarter Battle while the Deep Recon bagged the Sportsmanship award .
Cebu City Commission on Sports Chair Jerrry Guardo said the success of the first leg of the airsoft series is a good sign for the sport.
“I am very happy that after six years, we are able to revive the interest of the Cebuanos in airsoft,” he said. “We can see that the players really developed friendship and camaraderie during the games.”
Guardo said he is looking forward to holding at least two more legs this year.
