A mother’s gift of passion

LOVE indeed is the greatest gift of all. But when infused with passion, love becomes sweeter, literally and figuratively. Such was displayed at the 21st birthday celebration of Jonathan Choa, the fourth child of “The Chocolate Queen of Cebu”, Raquel T. Choa.

Celebrated at the Casa de Cacao of Ralfe’s Gourmet last March 9, the evening began with a thanksgiving mass, followed by a delightful dinner, and thereafter a gratitude-filled message from the celebrant himself. The pinnacle of the evening was a heartfelt speech from the mother with the surprise reveal of Jo’s Chocolate Bar, her newest creation that she named after Jonathan as her gift. The new treats have this gritty texture with crunchy peanut butter and caramel mix on top of its chocolate base.

With Jo’s Chocolate Bar generously displayed for all the guests to take home with them, four other chocolate cakes were also introduced. This includes the Chocolate Con Corazon, Torta De Francisco, Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake and the Torta de Cerveza Negra.

Raquel plans to carry on this gallery for everyone to look out for at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu, where their café, The Chocolate Chamber, is also located. Aside from Jo’s Chocolate Bar and the special chocolate cakes, also watch out for their new product “Loaf of May”.
