While conservative Pinoys may disagree with his divorce bill, there are netizens who agree with House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s proposal to lift the tax exemption on religious and church-run schools.

A netizen named Emir Sobrado wrote: “Panahon na talaga na hingan ng tax ang mga (It’s time to tax the) religious institutions…!!!”

Another Netizen named John Day said: “Dapat bitaw tax na tanan. Kanang kwarta ma kolekta as tax pra mana sa tanan tawo wa may exempted. Parehas man ta tanan mag enjoy sa (Yes, it’s time o tax everyone. The money collected as tax is intended for all, no one is exempted. All of us enjoy) government service.”

While Jaime Alejandro wrote: “The Mamamayan (public) wants it. They should be taxed.”
