A couple and a four-year-old child died in an accident involving four vehicles in Barangay Taloot, Argao town in southeastern Cebu, today past 10 am, Sunday.

The fatalities were identified as 61-year-old Virgilia Sillote, Jose Aquillo Sillote, 62, and their four-year-old grandchild Vince Bryle Villaces.

Both died after sustaining injuries in the head and chest.

PO2 Clifford Butron of the Argao police precinct said five persons were also wounded in the accident.

He said a multicab that sped through the right lane suddenly turned to the other side resulting in a collision with the south-bound trailer truck.

The truck driver reportedly lost control as he turned to the other side to avoid the collision, causing the truck to crash into the mangroves beside the road.

Two other motorists were hurt in the collision and were confined in a Cebu City.
