MANDAUE City stayed on top in the North Division quarterfinals of the Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities and Municipalities Volleyball Tournament 2018 after logging another win yesterday at the Medellin Municipal Gym.

The top-ranked Mandaue ended Catmon’s winning streak with a 25-15, 6-25, 25-22 victory for its third win in as many outings in this round. Catmon dropped to 2-1.

In the second game, Danao City won over Tabogon, 17-25, 25-17, 25-23, to notch its first win in three games. Tabogon remained winless in the quarters.

Liloan, meanwhile, logged its second victory with a 25-14, 25-18 win over Medellin. Liloan now sports a 2-1 (win-loss) record while Medellin dropped to 1-2.

The top two teams after the single round robin affair will fight for the North Division title. The winner will then take on the winner in the South Division for the overall crown.

The fourth round of the quarterfinals will resume on May 8 at the Catmon Municipal Gym.
