HOMEGROWN Cebu developers were recognized in different categories during the 6th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, even besting other national developers.

Leading the list is AppleOne Mactan Inc., the premier development arm of AppleOne Properties Inc., which reaped four awards and commendations for its luxury project in Mactan — The Residences at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort.

The property won the awards for Best in Luxury Condo Development (Cebu), Best Condo Interior Design (Philippines), and was Highly Commended for the Luxury Condo Architectural Design Category.

But its most notable award was the Best Condo Development for the entire country.

“This is the first time that a development outside Manila won this award. During the awarding, we went out of the event venue because we were not expecting to win. But we were called.,” said Ray Go Manigsaca, president of AppleOne Properties Inc.

“We want to thank PropertyGuru for giving provincial developers a chance,” he added.

Another local developer who took home several awards and commendations at the Property Awards 2018 was Grand Land Inc.

But unlike AppleOne, Grand Land won different awards for different properties.

They won the Best Hotel Development (Cebu) for its Dusit Princess-Grand Tower Cebu property.

Its Grand Residences Cebu won the Best High End Condo Development (Cebu); while their Amani Grand Mactan, Cebu won the Best Affordable Condo Development (Cebu).

Meanwhile, Grand Land was also Highly Commended as a Best Boutique Developer for the entire country. The main award was bagged by ArthaLand Corp.

“We are very happy with these awards. It will definitely give legitimacy and strengthen our brand and our company,” said Grand Land Vice President Khristina Pestaño.

This is the first time that the developer won this much awards. In last year’s edition, they were only Highly Commended in the Best Mixed Use Development for their Grand Tower Cebu.

Another local developer, Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) also received a handful of awards during the ceremony which was held at the Fairmont Makati ballroom last May 11.

CLI’s Casa Mira South won the Best Housing Development (Cebu).

The Property Awards 2018 also handed a special recognition for a public facility to the Terminal 2 of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) which is undertaken by the GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC).

It was the only public facility all over the country to receive the award.

Meanwhile, a property in Cebu was also recognized. The Cebu Exchange by Cebu Lavana Land Corp. a subsidiary of ArthaLand Corp. won the Best Office Development (Cebu). The same property was also Highly Commended for the Best BPO Office Development, and Best Office Architectural Design categories.
