Council okays budgets for CCMC consultants, cardiologists

The Cebu City Council approved the allocation of P3.9 million to pay the services of 36 consultants and P80,000 to pay eight cardiologists contracted for the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

Both budgets were contained in a resolution authored by Councilor and concurrent deputy mayor for health Mary Ann Delos Santos that was passed during the council’s June 5 session.

The resolution stated that the contracts for both consultants and cardiologists ran for six months, from January to June of this year. Each consultant is paid P18,000 a month while the cardiologists are paid P10,000 a month.

The 36 consultants included those needed for the research department (Dr. Edsel Inocian), department of pathology (Dr. Annette Santillas), department of clinical pathology (Dr. Lydia Bigornia), department of ophthalmology (Dr. Arnel Jayme – Sanchez, Dr. Darrel Mariano – Macabata), department of gynecology (Dr. Shelly Perez, Dr. Florybeth Corraine Taguba, Dr. Amelia Abbu, Dr. Socorro Manalot), department of anesthesiology (Dr. Mylene Apurada, Dr. Stephanie Elaine Sevilla-Garife, Dr. Norman Batobalonos, Dr, Arthur Canares, Dr. Criselle Angeli Cabaluna-Barcenas).

Also included are the department of pediatrics (Dr. Mary Jol Sucalit, Dr. Leah Lafuente, Dr. John Uy, Dr. Dahlia Go, Dr. Margarette Modequillo, Dr. Ronald Limchiu, Dr. Susana Deborah Limchiu, Dr. Doris Louise Obra, Dr. Jose Antonio Quitevis, Dr. Lee James Maratas, Dr. Cheryl Bullo, and Dr. Jonathan Lim), department of internal medicine (Dr. Evelyn Alesna, Dr. Roy Entienza, Dr. Florenz Eubil Bilocura, Dr. Imelda Bilocura, Dr. Bernadette Moscoso, Dr. Ruben Escarda, Dr. Alexander Tan Jr., Dr. Jeremy Jones Robles, and Dr. Paul Padilla), and the department of organ imaging (Dr. Edwin Ray Medalle).

The eight cardiologists contracted by the CCMC were Dr. Edwin Ray Medalle, Dr. Braulio Sto. Domingo Jr., Dr. Alex Justimbaste, Dr. Gabriel Mendoza Jr., Dr. Karen Sitaca-Diño, Dr. Ma. Isabel Aparece, Dr. Ma. Louella Quijano, Dr. Giovanni Pinili, and Dr. Elena Mapula.
