The Police Regional Office said it will work with barangays, local governments and other government agencies in rounding up those loitering in the streets late at night.

Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, PRO-7 chief, said they are now reviewing the curfew ordinances of cities and towns.

In Talisay City Supt. Marlu Conag, city police chief, said they conducted an information campaign on residents to inform them of the curfew ordinance. Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III said he wants to get the specifics on the police anti-loitering campaign.

“I don’t really know about their definition of tambays (loiterer). Tambay nga mag inom sa daplin sa dan o magsugal ba, kana angay tingali na dakpon (Loiterers who drink by the wayside or gambles, those should be arrested),” the governor told reporters.

He asked whether loiterers also include people who watch other people and cars pass by. President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the police to round up tambays to reduce crime in the streets.
