‘MagTV Na’ bids viewers goodbye

ABS-CBN Cebu’s magazine show “MagTV Na” has bid goodbye after 10 years.

Viewers were surprised yesterday after its official Facebook page announced that the show was signing off.

“Mga Kamags, sud sa napulo ka tuig, kita ang nag uban, ubay-ubay na ang nasaw-an. Katawa, luha ug inspirasyon, kami kanunay’ng mapasalamaton,” the post stated.

“MagTV Na” thanked its viewers, saying their love and support are the reasons why the show reached a decade.

“Apan, ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END, ang inyong Sunday morning barkada, temporaryo’ng manamilit sa kahanginan,” the post added.

Yesterday’s farewell episode was titled, “Daghang Salamat Kamags!”

The hosts—Borgie Cabigas, Reena Malinao-Tan and Jonathan Cimafranca—recalled their previous segments and how the show changed their lives.

Former hosts Inday Tikay and Phoebe Fernandez also joined yesterday’s episode.

Other hosts who had been part of the 10-year-old show include Charlene Go, Genesis Nacua, Blinky De Leon, Erwin Lim, Mc Billy Sy, and Dan Harry Genson.

“MagTV Na” is known for its lifestyle and travel stories, home makeovers, and cooking segments.

An education advocate, the show is also popular for its “Libro Alang sa Kapamilya” project.

They were able to build eight libraries in different schools across Central Visayas.

“MagTV Na” has also won awards from Anak TV Seal and the Catholic Mass Media Awards.

Adrian Diongzon, TV production head for “MagTV Na,” reiterated in an interview with Cebu Daily News how thankful they are to the Cebuanos.

“We just want to thank all our viewers for the opportunity to serve and entertain the Cebuanos. Once a Kamags, will always be a Kamags,” he said.

For Diongzon, every episode is memorable.

“We would debate on the colors of the graphics. We made sure that we inspire people. What makes an episode memorable is when you feel that you have touched the people’s hearts,” he said.
