Eslao rules pro category of Cebu Scrabble Masters

VETERAN Cebuano word wizard Dart Eslao topped the professional category of the 2018 Cebu Scrabble Masters Tournament in Bayanihan Village, Barangay Basak Pardo last Saturday.

Eslao finished with a clean 5-0 sweep, capped off with a win over Learjet Dela Cruz of the University of Philippines (UP) Cebu in the final round, 444-408.

Meanwhile, Joel Toroy (3.5-1) and Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School’s (RDMNHS) Neil Carmelotes (3-2), who also had the highest single game with 509 points, finished as the top overall finishers.

Lord Garnett Talisic of the University of San Jose-Recoletos also won all five games to win the elementary category over Quiot Elementary School’s Jace Carl Isales (4-1) and R-Jay Talatayod (3-2).
