Medellin downs Consolacion in Governor’s Cup semis

Medellin defeated the Consolacion Sarok Weavers, 80-77, in a North Division semis game of the Governor’s Cup Inter-cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament 2018 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Center (MCCSC) Tuesday evening.

Gelmart Umpad and Fritz Saladaga led Medellin with 23 and 22 points, respectively.

Patrick Montaño was the top scorer for Consolacion with 14 points.

This is the first time that Medellin advanced to the semis of the tournament, according to head coach Ryan Salimbangon.
