Pedicab driver arrested for disobedience, possession of drugs

A pedicab driver was arrested for possession of illegal drugs, and resistance and disobedience to authority in Barangay Basak San Nicolas in Cebu City on Sunday afternoon, July 8.

The suspect was identified as Noel Canene, 30, from Sitio Villa Kalubihan of the same barangay.

Chief Insp. Randy Caballes, station commander of Mambaling Police station, said that the suspect allegedly threatened to kill PO2 Jeprey Cibay when the police officer tried to warn Canene not to enter the closed road along Cabreros Street.

The police also recovered one small-sized sachet of suspected shabu from Canene.

The suspect is now detained at Mambaling police precinct pending the filing of charges against him.
