Ermita officials ask appellate court to lift suspension order

Suspended Ermita Barangay Captain Mark Rizaldy Miral is hopeful that their suspension order would be lifted by the Court of Appeals (CA).

Miral said they have submitted a motion for extension to file a motion for review at the appellate court earlier this month and prior to implementation of their suspension order.

The suspended barangay captain added that he and other council members should not have been included in the case filed by former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz.

The village chief explained that they did not have any hand on the alleged non-cooperation of the barangay with PDEA-7 operatives during an anti-drug operation.
