Four caught for selling shabu to cops

For mistaking some cops as potential customers, four men landed in jail last Friday and will soon face charges of illegal drug possession.

Supt. Marlu Conag, Talisay City police chief, identified the suspects as Joseph Radan, Brion Caneda, Benjie Pantilgan, and Mario Villarias. All are residents of Sitio Magay, Barangay Tangke in Talisay City where they were arrested.

Conag said the policemen who were approached by the suspects wore civilian attire at the time. “Our policemen look very young and their faces are just new and so they were mistaken as buyers of illegal drugs,” he said.

Conag said the four allegedly offered sachets of shabu to the policemen. He said the barangay had been supportive of the police’s anti-drug campaign.
