The new regional director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB-7) said they will intensify their crackdown on colorum vehicles.

LTFRB Regional Director Eduardo Montealto, a retired Army soldier, said he will continue the campaign initiated by outgoing LTFRB director Ahmed Cuizon.

Montealto served as LTFRB director in Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) for 15 months. Since January this year, LTFRB-7 impounded 39 colorum vehicles, the majority of which are tourist vans.

Cuizon will head the Central Luzon office of the LTFRB as he replaced Director Glenn Zaragoza who has retired from service.
