PHENOMENAL Star Maine Mendoza has proven that she is indeed an online sensation.
Out of 30 semifinalists across Asia, Mendoza got the highest online votes for the “100 Asian Sweethearts,” a poll conducted by Starmometer.
According to its website, Mendoza got 1,485,312 votes both from Facebook and online poll making her the official representative of the Philippines for the Final Five.
Even before the polls, Mendoza was named by Twitter Philippines as the most talked-about female celebrity for the months of January until June this year.
The 23-year old actress has 4.7 million followers on Twitter and 3 million followers on Instagram.
Following Mendoza, Starmometer identified Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo as her biggest rival with 1,355,970 votes.
To complete the Final Five, Starmometer picked other finalists from other Asian countries with the highest votes.
Competing with Mendoza in the final five are Bollywood actress Sanaya Irani (India), Blackpink member Jennie Kim (South Korea), “Meteor Garden 2018” lead star Shen Yue (China), and Lakorn actress Urassaya Sperbund (Thailand).
Voting for the Final Five started last night and the winner will be named as the Ultimate Asian Sweetheart of 2018.
