Five Highway Patrol Group (HPG) members are relieved of their posts after being charged for the murder of lawyer Noel Archival. Respondents of the crime, Romualdo Iglesia, HPG-7 director; Senior Supt. Joselito Lerion; Chief Insp. Eduardo Mara; SPO4 Edwin Galan, and PO1 Alex Bacani were told to go back to Camp Crame in Manila and are placed on floating status.

Their lawyer Inocencio dela Cerna said it’s a policy of the Philippine National Police to “restrict to camp” all policemen facing charges. The five policemen were charged in the fatal ambush of Noel Archival and two of his aides in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu last Feb. 18.

Five of them are facing multiple murder and frustrated charges.
