A 22-YEAR-OLD man was found hanging dead at home in barangay Luray II, Toledo City yesterday.

His mother, Rosalia Malazado, told police that Alberto was secretly in love with their neighbor, but couldn’t tell the girl about his feelings. She said her son was usually silent and would stare at the girl’s picture saved in his mobile phone. Alberto was found dead at home by his cousin while his mother was tending their store.

The victim was rushed to the Toledo District Hospital where he was declared dead. SPO2 Larry Pili of the Toledo City Police Station said foul play was ruled out as the family was convinced it was a case of suicide.

In Pinamungajan town, western Cebu, a 39-year-old construction worker was found dead in a grassy lot at 5 a.m. in barangay Buhingtubig on Monday. Jenaro Alvarado Cuizon had severe head injuries believed to be inflicted using a rock. PO1 Peter Cuanso of the Pinamungajan police said a blood-stained rock was one one meter away from the body.

The attacker may have followed or waylaid Cuizon who went to buy cigarettes from a store at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

In Mandaue City, a construction worker died after a fellow worker struck his head with a hammer Sunday afternoon in barangay Centro.
