A call center agent committed suicide past midnight by jumping off a building at the Cebu I.T. Park in Cebu City.  Before he leaped he posted a farewell note in his Facebook status where he described his heartache over a failed romance.

The man was identified by police as 25-year-old Ernie Gulle Antigua Jr. According to investigator SPO4 Rey Cuyos, Antigua jumped at 12:12 this morning from the i2 Building.

Cuyos  said  footage of a CCTV camera recorded Antigua  going up alone to the 12th floor. Before this, the employee posted a long lament  in his Facebook account.

Part of his Facebook status read: “…Gibuwagan ko nia for no reason and I just find out nga naa diay cia lain guy named (Name withheld) of what so ever company … well to all my friends and family thank you for all the support and guidance. I’m sorry if I fail you guys for just a girl (name withheld).”

One of the comments posted by Antigua himself on his status read: “I have a letter on my back pocket and whoever gets it pls. share it on facebook thank you and I love you.”

The status was posted minutes before he fell to his death. A friend of the victim,  24- year-old John Ervin Cabillas, has verified that the post was indeed Antigua’s Facebook account. Cabillas  told Cebu Daily News he was shocked to learn about the suicide.

He said Antigua, who studied in the Talamban campus of the University of San Carlos,  was a “very positive  and jolly” person. They became good friends after being introduced by one of Antigua’s cousins, he said.

Meanwhile the family of the suicide victim has requested the police department not to release a copy of  Antigua’s 6-page letter to the media because the contents involved personal matters. The original letter is with the family, who gave  a photocopy to police investigators.

The remains of the call center agent were  brought to Rolling Hills Funeral Home in Mandaue City.
