A Cebu City policeman is accused of shooting to death the younger brother of his live-in partner yesterday morning in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City.

Golgie Donor, 26, died in the hospital of two gunshot wounds.

The shooter, PO2 Franklin Bulaquia, surrendered at the Mabolo Police Station where he is assigned.

In an interview, Bulaquia said he and his live-in partner would often fight over domestic problems.

The woman’s brothers would come to her defense. Their advice for her to leave the policeman and go back to Mindanao irked Bulaquia.

Bulaquia said he went to the house of the two brothers to confront them.
He had a gun tucked in his waistband.

Golgie, one of the brothers, tried to snatch the gun. They grappled for possession when the gun went off fatally hitting Golgie.

SPO1 Allan Pantaleon of the Lapu-Lapu City Homicide Section said the two brothers Golgie and Roello, were having breakfast when the policeman barged in and kicked both of them.

The police officer went back to his house a few meters away then returned to the brothers’ house, kicking Roello again.

Golgie tried to stop the attack but was shot in the left torso.

Roello grappled for the gun and another shot rang out hitting Golgie again.

The policeman fled and later surrendered at the Mabolo Police Station.

Golgie was rushed to the Mactan Doctors Hospital but died a few hours after.

Police recovered two shells of a .9mm caliber pistol from the crime scene. PO2 Bulaquia is detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
