Cebu police seized more than P300,000 worth of shabu and assorted firearms from three suspected drug pushers in separate drug busts in  Sibonga town and Tapon 1, barangay Napo, Carcar City, Cebu.

The operation followed hours after former policeman Antonio Aguisanda Jr. was arrested at his own home in Consolacion town on illegal drug charges.

Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) chief Rodolfo Albotra told reporters yesterday in a press briefing that they conducted a buy bust raid before they went to the house of 44-year old Jonathan Nacua Dayagan,

A search warrant was issued against Dayagan by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 19 Judge Wifredo Navarro last August 14.

“Dili kaayo ni sila dagko pero makadawat ta og daghan nga complaints nga rampant ang selling of illegal drugs in the area, (They are not big time but we have received a lot of complaints about the rampant selling of illegal drugs in the area),” Albotra said.

Arrested during the buy bust were 55-year old Rey Llanos. Police found a .45 pistol from his possession. Operatives said another suspect, 45-year old Domingo Nacua, was with Llanos but he ran away only to be arrested later in Dayagan’s house.

Several P1,000 and P500 bills that were used for the operation were also recovered from their possession.

Found in Dayagan’s home were assorted sizes of plastic sachets containing shabu worth P372,408, several pieces of drug paraphernalia, one rifle, one .45 pistol with magazine containing seven bullets and five rounds of .357 bullets.

The suspects are now in the custody of the PIB pending the filing of charges in relation to Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act and illegal possession of firearms.
