Capitol to reassign jail guards to curb drugs

Three of the six jail guards who may have facilitated the entry of illegal drugs in the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) will be reassigned next week.

The Capitol Committee on Discipline and Investigation (CODI) cannot proceed with an investigation since the report identifying the six guards was only based on suspicions, said the chairman Mark Tolentino.

“I think the best way to address the situation is to reassign them. We hope that by making some movement, this will curb the issue and give us more opportunity to take a better look at the situation,” he told reporters yesterday.
