The Southwestern University Cobras eye a sweep of the first round of eliminations today when they battle the University of Cebu Webmasters in the Cesafi men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Cobras have won four straight matches to start the season including a dominant 71-58 rout of hated rivals, University of the Visayas Green Lancers last week. A fifth just might be in the offing this afternoon as they go up against a Webmasters (1-3) squad that is lacking in height and experience.

UC is coming off a 65-74 loss to the University of San Carlos Warriors (4-1) last Tuesday, a game that saw them trail by as much as 30 points before making an endgame push to make the final tally respectable.

What kind of fight the Webmasters will put up today remains to be seen as they are expected to encounter problems against a SWU team that is clicking on all cylinders.

In the other seniors match, the Warriors gun for a fourth straight victory when they match up against the reeling University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars (1-3). The Warriors have been on a roll after losing their opening match, rattling off three straight to gain solo second place.

In the juniors class, USC hopes to remain unbeaten when they tackle the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildkittens while the UC Baby Webmasters cross paths with the winless Don Bosco Greywolves.
