Robbers divest P400,000 from Pinamungajan town hall treasurer’s office

September 01,2014 - 02:07 PM

Pinamungajan’s municipal government wasn’t spared by robbers, who ran off with P400,000 collected by the municipal treasurer’s office last Sunday.

The amount was supposed to pay the salaries of municipal government employees today. Pinamungajan’s municipal hall doesn’t have a security camera nor a security guard.

This is the fourth municipal treasury office to fall prey to robbers in the last two weeks. Most of the town halls are located close or within the same compound with the town’s police offices.

Supt. Noel Gillamac, Cebu provincial police chief, said he will investigate whether there were security lapses committed by the municipal police of each town.
