Five survivors of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake may dine with Pope Francis when he visit the Philippines next year.

“We will be sending some of my people there who were victims of the quake, five of them. They will dine with the pope,” Bishop Leonard Medroso of Tagbilaran said in a UCAN report.

He hoped the pope will visit Bohol where 33 churches in the Archdiocese of Tagbilaran were ruined, some reduced to rubble. Medroso said the people attended Mass in tents.

Archbishop John Du of Palo earlier announced that the Pope will dine with 30 typhoon and earthquake victims, 5 of them are Cebuanos, when he visits Tacloban City. Pope Francis will be visiting the Philippines from Jan. 15 to 19./ with Senior Reporter Ador Mayol
