Capitol Chief Security Loy Anthony Madrigal has been accused as wrecking the family of Red Camello and Iris Plasquita Camello.

The 27-year-old aggrieved husband faced the media yesterday, saying he wants “the truth to come out.”
Camello said Madrigal used his “power and influence” to lure his wife, Iris Plasquita Camello. Iris is the secretary of Madrigal.

Medellin Mayor Ricky Ramirez, who first posted in Facebook the photos of Madrigal sitting cozily with Iris, was also present during the press conference yesterday afternoon.

Red’s younger sister, Tessie Jean and their cousin, Jodelia Tormis, also spoke before the press in support of the aggrieved husband.

Both Madrigal and Iris were advised by Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III to resign last Thursday following the spread of the photos due to the “issue of morality.”

Red, an airline worker, said he wants to have custody over his two daughters aged 4 and 2, whom Iris brought with her when she left their house in Mandaue City last January 28.

Iris, he said has repeatedly refused to let him see the children since July this year.

“As to legal action, none as of yet. Gusto lang mi nga muguwas ang kamatuoran kay mura man ug niguwas nga buwag na mi daan sa ako wife,” he told reporters.

(We just want the truth to come out because it appears like I was already separated with my wife when all of this happened).

“The family will take any possible action to take the custody of the kids,” said 22-year-old Tessie Jean.

LAVISH GIFTS

Iris and Red tied the knot last year after living together for eight years since their college days at the Indiana Aerospace University in Lapu-Lapu City,

However, Red, who hails from Bacuag town in Surigao del Norte noticed that her wife started getting “cold” after she started working at the Capitol as Madrigal’s personal secretary in July last year.

Red said his suspicion grew more when his wife started receiving lingerie, bags, wallets, perfumes and shoes from luxury brands as well as a new cellphone and refrigerator.

At times, Madrigal’s crew even drop assorted fish at their place, which Red believes, come from the security chief’s operations with the Cebu Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force.

He said Madrigal’s “men” under the Capitol’s Civil Security Unit (CSU) and environment task force would fetch Iris in the wee hours of the night. This resulted in the couple’s frequent quarrels.

Red said he also spotted Madrigal using his government-issued vehicle, a black Mitsubishi Strada, to fetch his wife from their house.

“They said Iris was needed to be present when they conduct inspections at checkpoints or when the task force has operations,” he said.

“She arrives at home irregularly. Sometimes, she even goes home at dawn,” he added.

Red said her wife, who hails from Matalom town in Leyte, also told him that she receives a weekly allowance of P2,000 from Madrigal for her duties with the task force.

“Pag sugod, nagtuo ko nga nag trabaho lang sila. Akong asawa naman diay ang gi-trabaho (At first, I thought they were just working. It turns out he was already working to get my wife),” he explained.

For his part, Ramirez said the items given by Madrigal just reveal “how lucrative his job is.”

“All these apprehensions, he just wants to send a message to all the illegal fishers that they should come to him. This is all about money,” said the mayor.

CONSPIRACY

In a phone interview yesterday, Madrigal denied all the allegations, saying Red and Ramirez have conspired to “destroy his reputation.”

He also plans to file libel charges against the mayor for the online posts directed against him.
“He has caused me too much harm. I’m keeping my cool against him but this is enough. I will file libel against Ricky,” he told Cebu Daily News.

Madrigal said he went home to San Remigio town in northern Cebu yesterday to take a brief respite from the recent “circus” in the city.

But he said he will be back in Cebu City to ask the governor to “reconsider” his decision in a meeting today.

Governor Davide earlier said a superior in a government office is prohibited from engaging in a romantic relationship with his or her subordinate under Civil Service Commission laws.
