Robbery gang breaks into Liloan home

A 46-year-old woman claimed four men broke into her house, hogtied and blindfolded her and took more than P100,000 in cash, electronic gadgets, jewelry and personal belongings at 2 a.m. Monday in barangay Tayud, Liloan, Cebu.

Jeanette Taybin Dabalos told the police that she was awakened by the noise outside their house.
When she checked, she saw four men trying to break in.

PO2 Eric Bentoy, desk officer of Liloan police, said Dabalos fought the robbers who gained entry through the window of the kitchen.

She was however overpowered as two of them were armed with guns while one had a knife.

The robbers bound her hands and feet with a packaging tape. They also blindfolded her.

One of the robbers allegedly hit her in the stomach before she was locked in the toilet.

The perpetrators fled with two pairs of shoes worth P9,000, P7,500 cash, a laptop computer and electronic gadgets worth P99,000, jewelry worth P25,000, credit cards and ATM cards.

After the robbers left, Dabalos crawled to the master bedroom where her husband and three kids were asleep.

Dabalos said the robbers were all wearing surgical masks and are medium built.

When asked why it took her a while to report the incident to the police, Dabalos said that they went to the bank first to close all their accounts and to the hospital to have her bruises treated.

In Bogo City, a teller of a finance cooperative was robbed by two men onboard a motorcycle at 10 p.m. Monday.

Aileen Perpetua Tillor, 27, a teller of Gabay sa Kalambuan Micro Finance Cooperative in San Remegio, Cebu lost P43,000 worth of electronic gadgets, jewelry and P5,000 cash.

She was on her way home on board a motorcycle when two men blocked her way and snatched her bag.

PO2 Alexander Ancao Jr, investigator of Bogo city, said that the robbers were not armed and Tillor could not recall their physical features.
