The Aboitiz Group recently announced its new target of planting six million more trees by 2020 after exceeding its three million target by mid-2014, one year ahead of schedule.

Under the A-Park program, the Aboitiz Group pledged in 2009 to plant three million trees by 2015 as commitment to build a better world through sustainable environmental practices.

This year’s simultaneous group wide tree-planting generated 50,000 more trees through the efforts of around 1,700 volunteers from 18 business units of the Aboitiz Group.

“We aspire to grow and maintain our businesses with the minimal adverse impact on the environment and to ensure that we become a partner for growth in our communities so that this partnership will redound to economic and human development,” said Aboitiz Equity Ventures president and chief executive officer Erramon Aboitiz.

The Aboitiz Group believes that we can do well by doing good, always making the right long-term decisions that balance the interests of people, planet and profit.
